OUTDATE REFERENCE TO VIDEO #3 as a Group video. As of 2011-12, Video 3 is an INDIVIDUAL Stop Action/Animation/Timelapse video. However, the list below may still prove useful for determining a topic for other video projects.

3. Group Video Project: Group Project (3-4). This is a larger production setup with an entire production set, sound, assistants, the whole thing. Begin brainstorming topics for this project now and begin shooting simultaneously after the initial individual video has been completed. An example of this type of video is the documentary of “Prison Life: How I got here”. Another was “Class of 1997” a Senior Video…note, this involved a lot of shooting sessions and some after hours work to have it aired over the Channel 1 monitors at the end of the year.

Topic Ideas (brainstormed list in years past):

Racism or Prejudice...does it exist? Its is a problem? What are the solutions?

High School Drama

Conspiracy Theories: What the Government hides from you (seriously)...this would be reporter style, like a 48hour production, or a news story you might in the Examiner.

Music of the teens (including interviews, etc.)

Music Scene in SETx, like featuring a local band, recording a live play.

Tour of West Brook, interview with the APs, like for a new student to watch when they are transferring in...or something that could be shown in the counselors office.

Homeless Documentary - Actual interviews with the homeless, shelters

Health and Behavioral Issues: Cancer, abortion, drug abuse, aids, anorexia, bulimia, date rape and rape, teenage depression - How they affect teens, solutions to avoid, insight to how it the challenges are created. Another angle could be how these topics affect those around us.

Day in the life of a ___________ (fill in the blank...a senior, an administrator, a teacher, an athletes experience...focusing on the pressure to get to the playoffs, etc.)

Senior Life (or Teen, Band, Zoo (of being a Senior at WB) - What is it like, what are the pressures, challenges, accomplishments, etc.

Political issues: War (might be kind of hard to do)

Talk Show Style Production, with any of the topics above

New cast that covers all areas of a normal cast, including weather and sports. (Maybe a brief version...like 15 minutes tops)

Teenagers and Cars: Responsibility, Higher insurance, crashes, etc.

Current News Topics, in a news style broadcast: Teachers in portables

Documentaries - Stray Animals, graffiti around the city...who, why

Feature: Running a high school sports team

Beaumont, City of: Related video to life in Beaumont, the areas around us (a promo...not a derogatory)...maybe something that could be run on Ch 7.
